ARAMCO representatives, Dr. Waleed Al Amir, Director of Education and Dr. Nabeel Assudmi, Chief of Dental Services, paid a visit to Riyadh Colleges of Dentistry and Pharmacy last Sunday, 03 January 2015. They came to RCsDP to introduce ARAMCO’s new company, the Johns Hopkins Aramco Health Care (JHAH) and to discuss its mission, vision, goals and plans and the role of dental services within the new company.
Dr. Al Amir and Dr. Assudmi met with the Rector, Prof. Abdullah R. Al Shammery; Dr. Jamal Al Sanea, Dean of the College of Dentistry; Dr. Kais Al Obaidy, Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Allied Medical Sciences; Director and Assistant Director of the Research Center; the Chairmen of the departments in the College of Dentistry and the College of Pharmacy; and selected faculty.
The ARAMCO team not only introduced the JHAH and the role of dental services in the new company but also discussed possible future collaborations on Continuing Medical Education (CME); the training of residents, oral disease prevention programs, as well as the recruitment and employment of new dentistry graduates from RCsDP as dentists and auxiliary staff with JHAH.
The ARAMCO team also met with RCsDP dentistry and dental hygiene interns and dental students in their last year in the College to introduce to them career potentials within JHAH. They also toured the An Namuthajiyah facility with Dean Jamal Al Sanea and were impressed by the clinical setup, the electronic infrastructure and the educational approach in RCsDP. They invited RCsDP students to visit their facilities in the eastern province either during their annual summer camp or during pre-arranged visits. They promised to have further visits from ARAMCO in the future.
