The Riyadh Colleges of Dentistry and Pharmacy held its 56th Quality Assurance Symposium on 6th October 2016 with an emphasis on the institution’s preparation for the upcoming National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment re-accreditation happening on November 30 – December 1, 2016 and December 17 – 22, 2016.

Rector Prof. Abdullah Al Shammery on his welcome remarks, has told that the Institution and the Dentistry and Pharmacy programs should comply with the appropriate documentation and evidences that would be useful and contribute to the success of the said accreditation. He also wishes the faculty especially the new ones in having a wonderful stay during the academic year in the college.
Meanwhile, Prof. Mohammad Al-Omari, Chairman of Quality Assurance Committee, gave a brief update on the preparation of NCAAA re-accreditation process of the institution and programs of RCsDP and tackled the quality of education, principles and standards of accreditation and all other requirements that were already submitted to the accreditation body.
Prof. Al-Omari has given emphasis on the awareness of every faculty member on the re-accreditation and asked for their full support to the Quality Assurance Committee. He cites the updating of course outlines that should be uploaded in the E-learning portals which includes, preparation of sample E-exams, assignments, projects and Powerpoint lectures. He also stressed that the faculty must be aware and familiarize the Mission, Vision and Goals of RCsDP which could be helpful during the accrediation procedure. Prof. Al-Omari hopes that the college will be accredited with high quality standard which could be beneficial to the institution as a whole.
On the other hand, Dr. Saleh Al Shamrani, Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean of College of Dentistry extended his appreciation to the faculty for the support and cooperation they have given during summer vacation. He encouraged everyone not just to introduce the courses and its requirements but to teach on their level best and give the students a sense of what to expect on the courses.
The symposium ended with an open discussion that deals with the preparation of the NCAAA Re-accreditation.
