The Riyadh Colleges of Dentistry and Pharmacy will be hosting the 1st GCC Research Survey Committee Meeting on April 28, 2011 at its King Fahad Road Campus. Among the seven countries that comprise GCC, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was chosen to sponsor the Meeting; hence, the venue of the RCsDP.
The meeting will be participated in by the members of the Research Committee who are dental directors of the Ministry of Health of their respective countries. These directors include the following: Dr. Mohammed Al Rafee, Dental Director, Ministry of Health, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Sabiha Al Mutawa’a, Superintendent, Oral Health in Kuwait, Kuwait, Dr. Azhar Ali Naseeb, Chief Oral and Dental Health Services, Ministry of Health, Bahrain, Dr. Salahudeen Al Bulushi, Director, Dental & Oral Health Department, Ministry of Health, Sultanate of Oman. The meeting will be chaired by Prof. Abdullah R. Al Shammery, Scientific Consultant – Executive Board of the Health Ministers Council for GCC States and the Rector of Riyadh Colleges of Dentistry and Pharmacy.
The Meeting will take up specific certain issues like the objectives and scope of work of the Research Survey Committee; the technical and financial support that the Committee expects to get from the Ministries of Health of the different GCC states as well as from the Executive Board of the Health Ministries Council for GCC States; the methodology including sample selection and the biostatitician’s (Consultant) opinion for the survey that the Committee intends to undertake; the pilot of this project (content, size and timetable); and the selection of the examiner for the survey in each GCC member country.
